Held in Johannesburg, the event recognized RSB’s excellence in providing top-notch automotive refinishing solutions, alongside other distinguished winners in various categories.
Among the notable awardees were Absa, securing the coveted title of Insurer of the Year for the second consecutive year, and Volkswagen Group South Africa, honoured as the Best OEM. These accolades underscore the commitment of industry leaders to delivering exceptional service and products to the motor body repair sector.
SAMBRA, an integral part of the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI), plays a vital role in promoting industry sustainability and growth. Through initiatives like the SAMBRA Awards, jointly hosted by SAMBRA and Lightstone, the association celebrates excellence and fosters collaboration among industry stakeholders.
The revamped awards methodology, introduced last year, aimed to provide a more comprehensive assessment of industry dynamics. Through an annual survey, SAMBRA members evaluate insurers, OEMs, and automotive refinishing brands, assessing factors like service quality, payment practices, and overall satisfaction.
Bernard de Vantier-Strydom of Lightstone emphasized the importance of the survey’s evolution, designed to reduce respondent fatigue and accurately reflect industry realities. The streamlined approach ensures meaningful feedback while respecting participants’ time investments.
Charles Canning, SAMBRA’s national chairperson, highlighted the association’s dedication to fostering collaboration across the industry. By recognizing excellence and encouraging cooperation, SAMBRA aims to equip the motor body repair sector for future challenges and technological advancements.
